Privacy Policy – Nextcloud Mail

Last updated: August 28, 2026

This Privacy Policy applies to the private Nextcloud Mail OAuth integration used to connect a privately operated Nextcloud installation with Google Gmail.

Purpose of data access

The application accesses Google Gmail data solely to provide email functionality within the private Nextcloud Mail installation. This may include reading, sending, organizing and managing email messages and folders as requested by the authorized user.

Google user data

Google user data is used only for providing the requested email functionality.

The application does not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

Email data may be processed and temporarily stored by the private Nextcloud installation as necessary for synchronization, caching and normal operation of the Nextcloud Mail application.

OAuth credentials

OAuth authorization tokens are used solely to authenticate the private Nextcloud Mail installation with Google services. They are not used for any unrelated purpose.

Data sharing

Google user data is not transferred to third parties except where technically necessary for communication between the private Nextcloud installation and Google services.

Data retention and deletion

The authorized user may stop the integration at any time by removing the Google account from Nextcloud Mail or by revoking the application’s access from the Google Account security settings.

Removal or revocation prevents further access to the Google account through this integration.

Private use

This OAuth application is intended exclusively for private, non-commercial use and is not offered to the general public.
